Starting from the base of Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, this 6.5-mile circular walk takes us to Cadair Berwyn, the highest mountain in Wales outside Snowdonia N. P. with panoramic views across England & Wales from the summit. On our return, we will visit the top of the waterfall, which at 240ft high is Britain’s tallest, single drop waterfall. Before returning to the tea rooms at the car park.
Please bring walking boots, waterproofs and layers of warm clothing as this is an exposed mountain walk heading into winter. There is a strong likelihood of there being snow on the top of Cadair Berwyn so please bring appropriate clothes.
If the forecast is unsuitable for the walk, then it will be postponed at a couple of days notice.
Please bring a picnic and plenty of water and refreshments. This walk is not suitable for dogs.
The meetpoint is Tan Y Pistyll Cafe Car park, SY10 0BZ. Parking is £10 per car at the weekends, so car sharing is encouraged. Please arrive at 9.15am ready for a 9.30am start.
Address: Tan Y Pistyll, Waterfall Lane, Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant SY10 0BZ.
